There are not enough places like CYM and it is unique. I urge anyone with influence to ensure its continued success.” Christopher Warren-Green

In 2020 CYM will turn 50

To celebrate, we’re launching an appeal to raise £500,000 over the next 3 years. It’s a challenging time for small charities like ours. We need to raise much-needed funds to support talented disadvantaged young people to ensure they don’t miss out on attending The Centre for Young Musicians. We also need to purchase many new instruments for the young people and upgrade our old van!

Your money will go towards securing the future of CYM for generations of young people.

The musical knowledge I picked up at CYM undoubtedly helped me with my career in the music industry…CYM is one of the only places that offers such diversity in music and gives young people the opportunity to try out different types of music, from classical to jazz and I want to help young kids have the opportunity to go there, like I did.”  JB Gill

£50 could buy 2 recorders

“There is no way my parents could have provided by their own means the thorough and inspiring music education I received at CYM. Luckily they had the foresight to send me to an inner London school, making me eligible for programme. This excellent training built a very strong foundation for my life in music, and my attitude to teaching, practising, and performing, is all informed by my early years at CYM for which I am eternally grateful.” Django Bates
